Al-shabab has been actively recruiting teenagers of both gender in the north of Somalia particularly the westerner regions in that area, the most shocking recruitment is undergoing in the city of Borama where it is believed al-shabab has had under its spell more than 300 people who is now found to be with Al-shabab in the south of Somalia.

The population was awakened by the shocking truth that Al-shabab was there in and was actively teaching and making a huge army made up by teenagers, Ahmed Hirsi who dropped from the Al-shabab to be members, told awdalstate media Al-shabab members where coming in and out the city to teach and recruit young teenagers with the awareness of the officials leader in Hargeisa.
